If you are clever with graphics software you can probably set up a grid of numbers and pop them into this calendar. Since I’m not clever, I just printed it out, hand wrote the numbers and scanned it back into the computer. Yeah, I know it’s old school but it works and it was quick.

Teachers used to put these calendars up on the chalkboard since so many school activities revolve around the seasons and holidays.

These are easy to use in your sidebar. The April umbrella calendar I’m using now has a width of 300px and you can grab it for yourself by clicking on the image. It will open in a new window and you can save it to your computer.

These four women were painted by Jean-Marc Nattier (1685-1766) in Paris.

This portrait of Auguste-Gabriel Godefroy was painted by Jean-Baptiste-Simeon Chardin (1699-1779) circa 1741. A version of this painting is in the Louvre.

If you were a kid in the 1700s it’s unlikely that you would have your portrait painted unless, of course, you were the the Duke of Berry and the Count of Provence. Mom and Dad most likely paid some major bucks for this work of art. These children were painted by Francois-Hubert Drouais (1727-1775) of Paris.

I suppose scrap is just a part of life. Whatever you make, whether it be a fine meal, a couture dress or a greeting card, there will always be bits and pieces that are left over. Fortunately, some scrap is digital and easily stored on the hard drive rather than cluttering up the house.

The face of an angel!

This boy must feel lost if he’s running away from home. Also lost is the object that his elbow was resting on. Hopefully, you can find a place for him to rest until he gets hungry and decides to go home.

I love the angelic curls on this little guy.
