hundred years ago artists and typesetters were busy beautifying the written word with elegant drop caps, visually engaging the reader. So, what’s left after Web 2.0?  Vintage! Everything that is old is new again.

To use drop caps in your blog, save the small image shown here to your computer and upload to your blog as you would any image. Be sure and align the image to the left.

I thought the frame would be cool making it easy to add your own text.

I think I’ll be learning Photoshop for the rest of my life and I’m just beginning to play around with color.

I’ve always been a fan of Tim Burton and am looking forward to the Alice release in 3-D. Oh yeah, I’m not forgetting Johnny Depp, either!

These two illustrations are from the book and were drawn by Sir John Tenniel (1820-1914).

This illustration is from 1877 and I can’t decipher the artist’s name. I’ll be posting more Alice images in honor of the movie.
